Michele Harriman-Smith, CEO of online designer children’s fashion retailer Childrensalon.com, has been crowned Business Woman of the Year at the 2017 UK Private Business Awards (UKPBA), which celebrate excellence in UK privately-owned businesses.
Winners of UKPBA 2017 were revealed amongst the nation’s top private companies on Thursday 14 September at East London’s the Brewery.
The Business Woman of the Year award recognizes an exceptional business woman who has played an integral part in building a company, driven its growth and has understood the importance of a customer-centric business.
It is also acknowledges a forward-thinker and a strong role model for other women in her industry.
Commenting on her win and the support of her staff, Harriman-Smith says, “Thank you everyone for the kind messages – this was about us, not just me. It was us who won it, all of us.”
Harriman-Smith’s award is one of a number of achievements for Childrensalon this year.
The company started off 2017 being included in the 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain and 1000 Companies to Inspire Europe table hosted by the London Stock Exchange.
This was followed by inclusion in the Sunday Times HSBC International Fast Track 200, where Childrensalon ranked number 85, and the Employer of the Year award at the 2017 Kent Excellence in Business Awards.
