School children decorating jumpers for Christmas Jumper Day

Schoolwear retailer Abbey Street Shopping Centre (Tru Schoolwear of Accrington) donated 600 school jumpers to The Hyndburn Academy in Rishton, Lancashire, for a Christmas jumper activity day.

The jumpers were used for the Academy’s free Christmas jumper-making session to enable students to create their own designs. The pupils will then wear their jumpers to school for Christmas Jumper Day on 12 December.

“The Hyndburn Academy wanted to run an activity for the kids to do,” explains Rohit Vij. “I donated the jumpers for a Christmas jumper-making session, as they were just sitting here as the school’s uniform changed last year. It’s a great use for them, especially at this time of the year and during the cost of living crisis.”
