Billboard outside a shop that reads Show Some Love For Independent Retail - BIRA

The British Independent Retailers Association (BIRA) has launched a campaign to show some love for the high street. The association, which works with over 6,000 independent businesses of all sizes across the UK, has put together its ‘Show Some Love’ campaign and is encouraging retailers to get involved.

The campaign has been designed to support retailers to get involved in Valentine’s Day, which is the first seasonal event on the calendar. It is also encouraging customers to shop locally, both in-store and online.

Retailers don’t have to be a member of BIRA to participate

A bundle of resources and information are available to help independents attract customers to their stores and websites. Everything from social media posts and posters are available, as well as a free guide on how to market to customers.

Commenting is BIRA CEO, Andrew Goodacre. “We know that 2023 is going to be a tough year, which is why we want to offer extra support to our indies. Valentine’s Day is our first important date for retailers on the new year’s calendar. This campaign will help support them to market themselves more effectively than ever.”

Bira is also supporting the campaign with the tag − #BiraShowSomeLove. This will help further boost social media reach and coverage in each retailer’s area. For further information about the campaign, please click here.
