Secret Saviours, the pregnancy stretch-mark prevention expert, has launched a collection of next-generation maternity shapewear. This extension of the range continues to use skincare technology to prevent stretch marks, with the introduction of a maternity bra, leggings and shorties.
These new pieces, like the current Secret Saviours range of bump bands and briefs, feature patented Derma Dot™ pad technology by scientists at University College London Hospitals. These pads hold the skin in place, dispersing the pressure as the skin stretches. Subsequently, this blocks the path of stretch marks as they try to rip downwards through the dermis.
The new collection of preventionwear is available in two colours: black and mocha mousse.
Featuring 85% recycled yarns and OEKO-TEX approved, the products support, smooth and sculpt the body. The technology also plays an integral role in a 3-step system that focuses on maintaining healthy skin.
Step 1: Apply Day Gel: This acts as a primer to keep the Derma Dot™ pads in place on the skin. Blended with collagen-boosting Centella Asiatica and fragranced with hormone-balancing essential oils, the Gel also soothes the skin and prevents pregnancy itching.
Step 2: Dress in preventionwear: This is to be worn every day and taken off a night, with the pads gently gripping the skin. Flattering and supportive, the preventionwear supports bump, back, and breasts from pregnancy aches and pains.
Step 3: Massage in Night Cream: This nourishes and hydrates the skin. Blended with collagen-boosting Centella Asiatica, and fragranced with Bergamot and Geranium, the Night Cream rebalances and soothes the skin at night.
The system has saved over 30,000 women from pregnancy stretch marks to date.
Invented by three heavyweights in their field: UCL vascular surgeon Stephen Barker, skin tissue engineer Dr Robert Brown, and beauty brand specialist Sophie Hooper, the Secret Saviours 3-step system was put through rigorous clinical and consumer trials. It is also endorsed by dermatologists, recommended by midwives, and promoted by expectant mothers.
Commenting is founder and CEO, Sophie Hooper. “We are pushing the boundaries in skincare support because we want to provide pregnant women with a choice about how to care for their skin. Stretch marks affect over 80% of women during pregnancy. Whilst some women embrace them as their well-earned tiger stripes, some are left with life-long mental scars.
“Secret Saviours is the first real solution for stretch marks. It has been scientifically proven that creams and gels don’t work, but our ground-breaking textile technology offers pregnant women a genuine solution to one of the most common skincare issues women face in their lifetimes.”
The new collection provides women with stretch mark protection beyond their bump. The leggings and shorties also protect the bottom, outer and inner thighs. The bra, meanwhile, protects breasts as they grow. All garments are soft, comfortable, breathable and safe for mum and baby.
