The Baby Products Association’s AGM and networking event took place in central London on Wednesday 19 June, welcoming a strong turnout of over 80 members and non-members. With a fresh venue for 2024 – the Wellington Hotel in Vincent Square – Association chair Marc Hardenberg shared exciting new plans for the future.

This includes a restructuring, a new name and re-branding, new membership categories, and plans for numerous new partnerships. Hardenberg also expressed sincere thanks to former managing director Robert Anslow for his hard work and positive contribution during his 15 years leading the Association.

The event included four informative seminars. Highlights included Nick Richardson of The Insights Family, who gave an overview of changing generations of parents and their preferred shopping habits; Luke Burns of Cybex, who explained the updated R129 Car Seat regulations; James Birch of SGS, who described actions required by all manufacturers in coming months relating to the EU General Product Safety Directive; and Salma Boutarf, Senior Vendor Manager Baby Products of Amazon UK, who described how retailers can use the online giant’s services and also help to combat counterfeit products. Event attendees can contact julie@b-p-a.org for copies of the seminars.

The event concluded on the sunny terrace of the hotel, providing an opportunity for attendees to catch up with both old and new industry colleagues. Commenting on the event is Sara Simons of British Baby Box. “Can I just say how much I thoroughly enjoyed the event. The speakers were interesting, and it was great for networking.” Mitch Levene adds; “Well done to you all. Great event, excellent turnout and atmosphere.”

More information regarding the Association’s name change and re-branding will be issued to the industry as soon as possible. If you would like to join the Baby Products Association, please click here.
