SmartGames has successfully scooped two award wins at the Independent Toy Awards 2024, including Gold for IQ® Gears in the Educational Games category and Silver for Genius Square in the Board Games category. Now in its 17th year, the Independent Toy Awards are voted for by the nation’s independent toy retailers.

Winning Gold, the already award-winning IQ® Gears, which was selected as one of this year’s Toy Fair Hero Toy winners, challenges players to fit all of the gears onto the game board. When players have the correct solution, the pieces will connect and the cogs on the side of the gameboard will spin simultaneously.

Scooping Silver in the Board Games category, SmartGames Genius Square challenges players to race and level up their puzzle skills. Genius Square includes more than 60,000 puzzles across four levels of difficulty, all having at least one possible solution. A unique and fun game for 1 or 2 players, Genius Square tests speed and ingenuity.

Commenting on the awards is Karen Clarke, UK Brand Director at Smart Toys and Games.

“We are over the moon to have been recognised for two awards in this year’s Independent Toy Awards. Now in its 17th year, these awards are truly well respected within the industry and to have been selected by independent retailers is a real coup.

“We are thrilled with the success of SmartGames IQ® Gears this year; not only have sales been phenomenal, but with the Hero Toy win at the London Toy Fair in January, and now taking the top spot in the educational games category at the Independent Toy Awards, it’s certainly receiving the recognition it deserves.”
