Mª Eugenia García the new president of ASEPRI

ASEPRI, the Spanish Association of Children’s Products, has renewed its Governing Board for the 2024-2028 term, appointing Mª Eugenia García, CEO of Micuna and former Vice President of Childcare at ASEPRI, as its new president. García takes over from Álvaro Toubes, CEO of PAZ Rodríguez, who served as president for six years. Toubes will continue to contribute as treasurer on the new Board of Directors.

For four years, García has played a pivotal role at ASEPRI as Vice President of Childcare, advocating for children’s fashion and fostering collaboration across product categories. She was instrumental in the creation of BabyKid Spain (BKS) in 2020, a trade show born from the childcare sector’s need for a professional, dynamic and competitive meeting point.

Alongside Álvaro Toubes, she also worked to integrate FIMI into the project, creating a unique event that brings together childcare products, fashion, footwear and toys. The 5th edition of BKS + FIMI will take place at Feria Valencia from 22-24 January 2025.

As the new president of the ASEPRI, García emphasises the Association’s positive growth in recent years. With 33 years of history, ASEPRI has become a recognised and influential entity within the sector. “We will continue working to benefit the children’s products industry and enhance the competitiveness of our members,” confirms García.

A new chapter for ASEPRI

According to ASEPRI’s bylaws, the presidency alternates every four years between fashion and childcare companies. The new Governing Board, presented as a single candidacy led by García, comprises 12 companies, ensuring balanced representation across the sector. The team is committed to unity, collaboration and teamwork to safeguard the industry’s interests.

In this new term, Mónica Algás of Boboli will serve as Vice President of Fashion; Mª Fernanda Ferrandis of SARO will act as Vice President of Childcare; José Juan Femenia of Alondra will serve as secretary; and Álvaro Toubes of PAZ Rodríguez will continue as treasurer. The Board also includes representatives from Babidú, Chicco, Igor, Jané, Miniland, Pasito a Pasito, Rapife, and Tutto Piccolo as committee members.

Mª Eugenia García highlighted ASEPRI’s commitment to modernising the industry as well as fostering continuous growth through a leadership approach that values both experience and innovation. For further information on ASEPRI, please click here.
