Viking, a leader in Norwegian outdoor footwear and apparel for children and adults, has partnered with Kezzler and Trimco Group to embark on its Digital Product Passport (DPP) journey. The collaboration is set to launch with selected styles from Viking’s s/s 25 collection, embedding transparency, traceability, and customer engagement at the heart of the product lifecycle.

In preparation for the EU’s DPP requirements, expected to be finalised in early 2026, Viking is taking a proactive approach. Rather than viewing DPP as a regulatory challenge, the brand sees it as an opportunity to enhance data quality across the value chain, explore new customer engagement avenues, and drive sustainability practices.

Commenting is Elin Carlsen, Head of Sustainability at Viking Outdoor Footwear AS.

“Testing the use of DPPs in our footwear and apparel lines through unique QR code labels in GS1’s Digital Link format is changing the way we see data management and the possibilities to communicate with our customers.

“DPP places new expectations on data handling in our value chain, but it also opens exciting new opportunities for our repair & take care strategy. Kezzler and Trimco Group brings end-to-end solutions that align perfectly with our DPP objectives.”

The DPP will enable Viking to meet future transparency standards while also establishing a direct communication channel between the brand and customers. This strategic preparation aims to ensure compliance while fostering product integrity and customer loyalty across Viking’s value chain.

“Viking’s proactive approach to DPP and its commitment to sustainability are remarkable,” says Hans Petter Hubert, Director of Strategic Initiatives at Kezzler. “We are proud to support them in creating a digital ID strategy that leverages DPP as a powerful tool for value chain transparency and customer engagement.”

For Trimco Group, the project represents a pivotal step in aligning product lifecycle management with compliance and sustainable practices.

Also commenting is Camilla Mjelde, Compliance & Sustainability Director at Trimco Group. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Viking, a brand that’s woven into Norway’s heritage. Starting early on DPP preparations empowers Viking to maximize the many benefits that DPP brings and puts the brand ahead in the industry.”

As the DPP regulation continues to evolve, Kezzler and Trimco Group are committed to delivering a scalable, digital-first approach that exemplifies how brands can integrate sustainability, compliance, and innovation.
