Buyers attending INDX National Kidswear Show and INDX National Kids Footwear Show on 26-27 January 2025 at Cranmore Park, Solihull, can expect a variety of collections prioritising eco-conscious design.
Exhibitors of children’s fashion, footwear and accessories will present everything from sustainable materials and innovative packaging to design features that increase longevity and initiatives to promote circularity. Here’s a snapshot of what will be available.
Kite Clothing
Kite (pictured above) is passionate about protecting the planet, and sustainability has been at the heart of its processes since launching the first range back in 2007. All garments are made from certified organic cotton, recycled plastic bottles, sustainable wood pulp, or fabrics approved by Oeko-Tex. Kite is also proud to be certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). As well as being designed to be worn and washed again and again and passed on to others, garments feature clever details to help them last longer, including adjustable straps and cuffs that grow with a child. For a/w 25, the brand invites you to gather around for Storytime, a collection made for adventures of the imagination. With so much magical inspiration from a plethora of beautiful books, Kite pays homage to classics, fairytales and fables, along with its very own fantastical, homespun tales.
Froddo
With a tradition spanning 79 years, Froddo is dedicated to crafting footwear that not only supports growing feet but also protects our planet. Its commitment to environmental protection is evident in every step of production – all processes are powered by 100% green energy, minimising its ecological footprint. Froddo’s concern for the environment and the health of children is also reflected in the materials it uses: it sources leather from LWG-certified suppliers, chrome-free leather linings, and PFC-free hydrophobic materials, ensuring its products meet high ecological standards. Among the brand’s collection are eco-friendly slippers and vegan slippers. The Barefoot Woolly Slippers are made of 50% recycled wool, are washable at 30°C, and have a removable antibacterial microfibre insole. The Flexy Woolly Vibram Slippers feature a Vibram outsole design, which is tough, elastic and resilient. Sizes are EU 19-42.
Ducky Zebra
Ducky Zebra, known for its playful and sustainable kids’ clothing, will showcase two new collections at INDX: A Celebration of Reading and More Moor! A Celebration of Reading is an exciting collaboration with Roald Dahl, featuring iconic animal characters illustrated by Quentin Blake. The playful designs, crafted from organic cotton, celebrate a love of reading and storytelling. The More Moor! Collection (pictured above) takes inspiration from a 10-year-old customer, who shared her ideas and drawings based on her love of the Yorkshire Moors. Staying true to Ducky Zebra’s child-led ethos, her creativity became the foundation for this whimsical collection. Ducky Zebra worked closely with her throughout the process and even adopted her clever and playful title, More Moor! Both collections uphold Ducky Zebra’s commitment to sustainability, featuring GOTS-certified organic cotton, generous sizing with roll-down cuffs for growth, and all-season prints. The brand’s take-back initiatives, including the Pre-loved programme and thelittleloop’s Reloop initiative, ensure items stay in circulation. Customers are also rewarded for returning outgrown clothes, helping to reduce waste and keep garments out of landfill.
Dubs
At Dubs, comfort and fit are at the heart of every design. The brand knows that kids will only wear shoes that fit and feel great, which is why its footwear prioritises natural movement and all-day comfort. Lightweight, flexible, and crafted to support growing feet, Dubs shoes are designed to keep kids excited to wear them repeatedly. This focus on comfort is the first step in Dubs’ larger mission to create the “immortal sneaker” – footwear that isn’t just built to last but is also loved by kids for its style and eco-conscious design. By using durable, planet-friendly materials like recycled plastics and sugarcane, Dubs ensures that each pair of shoes lasts longer, helping to reduce waste and promote sustainability. With a commitment to longevity and comfort, Dubs’ shoes minimise the need for constant replacements, supporting a more sustainable future by reducing environmental impact. The “immortal sneaker” isn’t just a vision, it’s a step toward reshaping the future of kids’ footwear, blending style, comfort and sustainability.
Slipfree®
Slipfree® goes beyond just keeping children safe, it is also dedicated to protecting our planet. The brand’s shoes are now crafted from recycled polyester, earning it the prestigious Recycled Claim Standard certification. This milestone reflects Slipfree’s holistic commitment to both children’s safety and environmental responsibility. Certified with a class 1 Oeko-Tex label, each shoe has been rigorously tested to ensure it’s free from harmful substances. The brand takes protection seriously too, which is why its footwear delivers sun-stopping power with a UPF50+ rating, earning it the UV Standard 801 award. Slipfree’s packaging also reflects its commitment, with its recyclable cardboard hangers proving its commitment to sustainability in every detail, from sole to store.
