Two girls stood outside in long grass wearing outwear clothing

We share our favourite winter sports products from kidswear brands that showed their a/w 25/26 collections at last month’s ISPO Munich, Germany’s premier sports trade show.

MINI A TURE

Founded in Copenhagen in 2002, MINI A TURE’s (pictured above) ambition has always been to dress children aged 1-12 years in comfortable and functional outerwear that motivates and inspires outdoor play and adventure, regardless of destination, weather conditions or season. For a/w 25, it presents the theme of Nomads of the North, embracing the rugged beauty of Nordic landscapes and the resilience of its native cultures. New this season are several styles with lighter padding, making them perfect for mild seasons and warmer climates. The collection’s colour palette is inspired by the Nordic winter, with celestial blues, fresh snow whites and rich earthy tones, while prints reflect traditional nomadic patterns and intricate embroidery. There is also a range of products specifically designed for skiing. All ski jackets and pants can be mixed and matched with accessories – hats, gloves, neck warmers – and soft inner layers featuring wool and sherpa. The classic ski range also comes with a 10-year guarantee, ensuring it can be handed down to the next generation. Furthermore, from a/w 25 onward, all styles will feature digital product passports with QR codes, providing consumers with full transparency about each item’s production and supply chain. MINI A TURE was the winner of an ISPO award this season for an outstanding product, its MATKASTORIO jacket. This innovative children’s winter jacket combines high-performance features with a focus on long-lasting quality. It is also windproof, waterproof, breathable and tested to keep children warm in temperatures as low as -25°C. “As a proud B Corp company, it is incredibly meaningful to be recognised with an ISPO award in 2024,” says Signe Tholstrup, CEO and founder of MINI A TURE. “This proves that it is possible to design innovative, functional and high-quality products responsibly. All our products are created with these principles in mind, and we are as proud of the MATKASTORIO jacket as we are of the rest of the collection.”

Name It

Showing at the ISPO trade show for the first time, established Danish brand, Name It, from the Bestseller Group, was positive about the response from visitors. Represented in more than 20 markets across Europe, Asia, North America, South America and Australia, Name It covers fashion ranges for boys and girls aged 0-16 years. Alongside its fashion collections it has a technical outdoor/ski collection, Name It TECH, which is a perfect fit for the sports audience. The TECH outerwear brings Recco safety alarms, breathable vents, comfy suspenders, ski pass pockets, and snow skirts. We love the blast of colour in this eye-catching range. Alongside brights, there are also fun colour block snowsuits and jackets, all-over prints, and rainbow ombres. Knitted thermal layers and accessories give head-to-toe protection against the elements.

Oicanwear

At ISPO, with winter sports a large category, there is a focus on innovation in protection, especially relevant for kids’ sports gear. Oican is a specialist Swedish company launched in 2021 by two sisters. It all started in the summer of 2020 when Sofie’s youngest son was 1 year old. The family learned he had a chronic illness which, among other things, means a greater risk of injury if he falls. So, after a period of in-depth research, they developed a new protective material in close collaboration with some of the country’s leading researchers, materials experts and bio-mechanical engineers. As well as providing good protection, it can also be integrated discreetly into clothing. The protective material disperses and absorbs parts of the energy released in the event of a fall or blow to the head. Although only a few millimetres thick, it provides a high level of protection and is also classified as non-toxic. The range currently consists of hats and headbands, all locally produced in Sweden, in a range of sizes to suit babies to adults. There are knitted and lightweight cotton versions available too, so they can be worn in different climates and seasons. Perfect for when babies are learning to walk, but also when children are starting to climb and play more intensively, or for winter sports for all ages, including adults.

PinBina

PinBina, a sustainable kids’ brand from Switzerland, draws inspiration from its stunning landscapes and vibrant cities. On a mission to provide sustainable children’s sports fashion, it exclusively uses high-quality and technical materials to ensure its clothing meets the highest standards, prioritising recycled synthetic blends or natural fibres. Wherever possible, it upcycles fabric remnants from its manufacturers, and by using membranes made from recycled TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane), it reduces reliance on virgin petroleum without compromising the durability or weather-resistant performance. Transparent in all manufacturing, PinBina closely works with companies to ensure fair working conditions and to minimise environmental impact. Garments are designed to maintain their quality, functionality and shape over an extended period, promoting conscious consumption, a resale market, or allowing it to be passed down from child to child. New for a/w 25/26, some items can be personalised with an easy-to-swap selection of badges, offering a unique and creative approach for kids to add individuality. Another innovation is the Heatzone Vest with an integrated heating system, which is waterproof, breathable, lightweight and washable, designed to be worn alone or under jackets.

ROARSOME

This was award-winning kids’ adventure brand ROARSOME’s first time exhibiting at ISPO, which is the perfect fit for its colourful winterwear collection. The brand has a new, expanded accessories range, which is getting a lot of interest, alongside its signature all-in-one snow suits, new two-tone ski jackets and salopettes, and its bestselling bamboo baselayers. We love the new colour block snow mittens. “It’s getting harder and harder for parents to get kids outside,” says brand co-founder, Will Chapman. “We thought it was about time that somebody made it their mission to remind everyone how great the great outdoors really is. There’s no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing. Never in our wildest dreams would we have predicted doing so much in such a short space of time.”

SUPERREBEL KIDSGEAR®

Created in 2016, SUPERREBEL is a sports and couture street brand from the Netherlands designed for rebellious kids aged 6-16 years. It is outspoken in its designs and works with influencers and celebrities on social media and partnerships to build the brand alongside its men’s and women’s collections. Believing in being as sustainable as possible, SUPERREBEL is constantly on the hunt for innovative ways to improve its qualities, only using recycled, responsibly resourced materials. Transparency around supply chains and ethical practices is becoming crucial for brands, with apps and technology to assess the provenance of garments. Subsequently, SUPERREBEL has included QR codes on its clothing via tex.tracer, so each has its own digital passport. We love the bold eye-catching colours for boys and girls, as well as the fashion-forward print designs including always on-trend animal prints.

TROLLKIDS

Another impressive stand at ISPO was Norway’s TROLLKIDS, with a colourfully eclectic range of clothing, footwear and products for outdoor adventures for kids of all ages. The idea for the brand was born in 2011 in the middle of Norway’s mountains. The idea quickly became a reality, and TROLLKIDS is now sold across Europe. The product range includes jackets, vests, shirts, pants, sandals, hiking and mountain boots, cycle clothing, skiwear, accessories such as hats and gloves, as well as rucksacks and sleeping bags. Practicality and sustainability are two pillars of importance for the company. Depending on end use, fabrics are waterproof, windproof, water-repellent and breathable. GOTS and RDS certification, organic cotton, and recycled materials are just some of its sustainable practices.

Viking

Since 1920, Viking Outdoor Footwear has been on a mission “to create a world where everyone can be an explorer.” In 2025, the Norwegian brand takes that one step further with its Let’s Go to the Moon collection. Introducing out-of-this-world insulation in its footwear collection, it features Solarcore®, the most advanced technology of its kind, adopting the thermal advantages of NASA’s aerogel technology and infusing it into ultra-thin foam. The final product is a low-density material that gets warmer when compressed, allowing the foot and toes to radiate heat with every step. In 2023, Viking launched its first apparel collection for kids. Outer layers include playsuits that are built to resist wear and tear yet have the lightness and range of motion necessary for playing out in the elements. Midlayers are designed for maximum versatility, while the merino wool baselayers are moisture-controlling, cosy and itch-free. Essentials like hats, gloves and mittens similarly combine comfort and protection. The collection’s highlight is the new Jolly Insulated Rain Suit. Surface-treated with Bionic Finish Eco for long-lasting water repellency, it is perfect for days with rain and low temperatures. Its soft and velvety inside also ensures long-lasting comfort and unlimited flexibility.

WeeDo

WeeDo produces imaginative, practical and environmentally friendly outdoor clothing for children that withstands small adventures and big expeditions. This colourful world of mythical creatures, animals and monsters was first launched in Germany in January 2018 by Antje Risau and is distributed in the UK by Manby International Sportswear. The WeeDo universe includes ski and snowboard clothing, thermal layers and fleece onesies made from recycled polyester and PFC-free and water-repellent fabrics. Sustainably sourced textiles are at the heart of WeeDo. Using materials by Japanese company Teijin, which patented its process in 2022, new polyester yarn has been produced by recycling old garments. Practical and clever features are also key. For instance, the growing function for arms and legs, helmet-compatible adjustable hoods, ultra-reflective prints and piping, baggy trousers, and a waist zip in case of emergency. Some of our favourite new items include the cute red squirrel outfit with an optional tutu, the super-size tartan print, and the bold graffiti print snowsuit.
