Texhibition Istanbul 2025 once again proved itself as one of the leading international trade fairs for fabrics, yarns, and textile accessories. This year, for the first time, it also introduced a dedicated embroidery section.
Taking place on 5–7 March, the trade show transformed the Istanbul Expo Center into a dynamic meeting point for textile professionals worldwide. More than 500 exhibitors presented their latest collections and technologies, attracting 22,623 visitors from 106 countries spanning Europe, North and South America, and Asia.
The Turkish textile and apparel sector is a global leader with an export volume of $32.1 billion.
Texhibition Istanbul brought together all facets of the textile industry, offering a comprehensive overview of the entire textile supply chain. From woven fabrics and knitwear to denim and textile accessories, the fair served as a key hub for the global industry, with a strong focus on quality, innovation, current trends, and sustainable production.
The denim sector established itself on its own stage in the Blue-Black Denim Hall, featuring 21 leading companies from Turkey presenting their latest sustainable denim concepts. Workshops, creative installations, and fashion presentations, such as the Blue Black Denim Show, made this section one of the most vibrant areas of the fair.
Artistic and innovative denim collections showcased the latest developments in the denim industry, including metallic-shimmering fabrics and vintage reworked denim. Since the introduction of this segment, Texhibition Istanbul has recorded a significant increase in visitors from the EU, while demand for Turkish denim fabrics has grown considerably.
From smart materials to digital fashion
Texhibition Istanbul 2025 showcased numerous textile innovations, demonstrating how the industry is continuously reinventing itself. One of the most striking features was the Innovation Hub, which included transformative denim fabrics that change colour depending on treatment, skin-friendly fluorescent fabrics, and recycled leather alternatives made from pomegranate peels.
The fair also introduced MYTH AI, a startup specializing in pattern creation, design, and graphic development using advanced AI algorithms for its software, enabling manufacturers to adapt the design to any product easily. Meanwhile, Texhibition Trend Lab highlighted how innovation and technology had shaped sustainable textiles, blending futuristic aesthetics with functionality.
Sustainability driving the industry forward
A central theme at Texhibition Istanbul 2025 was the sustainable transformation of the Turkish textile industry. Companies are increasingly embracing eco-friendly processes, energy-efficient production methods, and innovative recycling solutions.
Karafiber presented its Ecocell Lyocell fibres, derived from sustainably grown wood and produced in a resource-efficient circular system, while Korteks introduced its new polymer recycling plant, revolutionising the production of polyester fibres from recycled plastic bottles.
The fair also highlighted the digital integration of sustainable textiles, with Isik Etiket presenting smart textile labels that provide information on material composition, care instructions and production origin via a QR code.
The labels themselves are made of cardboard and contain seed paper tags, which are a sustainable, 100% environmentally friendly and waste-free solution. Made from recycled paper and filled with specific seed varieties, they actively contribute to a sustainable future by planting the seed labels in the soil instead of disposing of them, helping to prevent pollution and adding value to the product. Since 2022, 6,069 seedlings have been planted through Isik Etiket’s labels.
ReValue Stock Hub: Sustainable business opportunities for overstock fabrics
Another innovative concept was the ReValue Stock Hub. This platform enables companies to market surplus materials in a targeted manner and develop sustainable solutions for unused stock. In addition to physical and digital presentations, the ReValue Stock Hub offers customised business opportunities for buyers and thus contributes to the sustainable transformation of the industry.
The B2B meetings organised at the fair also provided new commercial connections for exhibitors. Over 6,000 international visitors from 106 countries attended Texhibition. An increase of 30% compared to the event in September 2024, with the EU representing the largest visitor group at 41.3%.
