From 20-22 August, Istanbul Fashion Connection (IFCO) will host its eighth edition at the Istanbul Expo Centre, once again bringing the global fashion community together in the Turkish metropolis.
As Europe’s largest apparel and fashion trade fair, IFCO, which is organised by ITKIB Fairs Inc., a subsidiary of the Istanbul Apparel Exporters’ Association (IHKIB), presents itself as a progressive platform for creative collections, technological innovation and international business development.
Back in February, the seventh IFCO set a new record, with 513 exhibitors, 33,788 trade visitors from over 150 countries, and eight fully booked halls. The event’s unique combination of design excellence, innovative strength and strategic business networking will continue and expand further in August.
Highlights to watch out for at the August edition include The Core Istanbul, offering creative visions from over 20 Turkish designers, and the IFCO fashion runway shows. The WGSN trend briefing will also provide insights into macro trends for s/s 26, including colour stories, key pieces and commercially viable products.
Over 300 exhibitors of kidswear, womenswear, menswear, accessories, bags, lingerie, sports, outdoor, denim and shoes, will present their latest collections to over 30,000 international trade visitors across 30,000 sq. m of exhibition space.
Meanwhile, through initiatives like Metamorphosis, part of the EU’s IPA-II program, IHKIB is actively driving the digital and sustainable transformation of Turkey’s fashion industry, unveiling the latest developments at IFCO.
The Turkish textile industry is responding to the EU’s increasing sustainability requirements, particularly CO₂ footprint regulations, by investing in eco-friendly production. Organic cotton cultivation, recycled textiles and water-saving technologies are becoming more widespread across the sector.
At the same time, Turkish companies are increasingly focusing on digitalisation and technological innovation to enhance their competitiveness. Smart textile technologies, AI-assisted production systems, and automation are helping to reduce costs and speed up production processes.
