Pitti Bimbo 101, which took place this summer, was once again held over two days, making it a more streamlined and busy event. Alongside established Italian exhibitors such as the Monnalisa Group, D&G and Twinset Girl, the show featured international labels making their debut, including Markey’s and Marie Raxevsky. We also observed a new interest in collections from India; Appulu Kids, Meera, Yo Baby and Choose Kind all presented strong lines. Additionally, Pirouette Plaza was a highlight, showcasing nine brands, some of which appeared for the first time, including Bonniemob, Happyology, Young Soles, Dockatot, Sticky Lemon and Goldie + Ace, alongside Raspberry Plum, Toastie and Paade Mode, culminating in a spectacular catwalk event. Here we share some of our highlight brands from the show.

Goldie + Ace
The s/s 26 collection, Happy Days, features playful patchworks, countryside-inspired gingham and fruit prints, motorsport graphics, utility-inspired workwear and retro swimwear. Each item is designed for siblings, everyday wear and lasting quality. Goldie + Ace promotes responsible production, natural fibres, fits that grow – whether it’s an oversized cut or long cuffs designed to fold and unfold – as well as gentle dyes, with all garments Oeko-Tex certified. Alana spent 15 years working with production houses worldwide before founding Goldie + Ace in 2017. A small team in China, who have been making the garments for eight years, mainly produce the collections. Manufacturing is slow and precise, maintaining high standards of quality. We love the feel-good nostalgia of this extensive collection. There is something for every market, whether you’re looking for unisex overalls worn with colour-block tees, or dresses with ric-rac and embroidered sailor collars.

Markey’s
Markey’s debuted at Pitti Bimbo 101 with news that it has launched an international wholesale business. To support this new chapter, it has introduced a B2B website where international buyers can easily explore its collections, place orders directly online, and receive updates on new arrivals and special offers. Through the user-friendly platform, the aim is to strengthen partnerships with buyers worldwide. Founded in 1991 by Masayuki Hirohata as a multi-brand store in Osaka, by 2008, it launched its own brand focused on clothing that makes kids smile, allowing them to be free, comfortable and expressive. Inspired by American casual style, the unisex collection combines vintage and military influences, using high-quality, durable fabrics from trusted Japanese and overseas factories. The Made in Japan label emphasises craftsmanship. The textiles feature original textures, animal motifs, playful illustrations and vibrant colours, creating timeless, vintage-inspired outfits for children aged 1-14.

Meerra
At Meerra, children’s clothing becomes a canvas for storytelling and cultural heritage. Collaborating with artisans across India, slow processes are employed to handcraft and embroider each piece. The aim of these efforts is that when someone acquires a garment, they will appreciate both its craftsmanship and rarity, encouraging customers to buy better and more consciously. Muslin, hand crochet and vibrant fabrics are dyed with Ayurvedic ingredients like madder, turmeric and indigo. Flowers are a significant inspiration, from delicate floral embroideries and prints to crochet bloom tassels and laces and natural dyes, they feature in every part of the collection. The attention to detail and layering of texture and techniques demand close inspection. We love the embroidered floral unisex shirt and short set in vibrant orange, the delicate florals on lightweight organza layered dresses, and the meticulous detailing of the jacquard and beaded touches throughout.

This season captures the effortless style of Alain Delon, the quiet mystery of sailor-navigator Éric Tabarly, as well as the timeless rhythm of fishermen casting their nets. Vintage coastal looks are reinterpreted through cotton jersey sailor tops, linen smocks, tailored jackets, roomy shorts and cabana shirts. Silhouettes are designed for movement – perfect for seaside picnics, skipping rocks and gelato-filled afternoons.
