Swedish family company BabyBjörn and the International Hip Dysplasia Institute (IHDI) are strengthening their collaboration through a long-term corporate partnership. The initiative aims to support families affected by hip dysplasia.

The International Hip Dysplasia Institute is a collaborative, international, not-for-profit organisation committed to providing education to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

The collaboration focuses on promoting education and increasing awareness about hip dysplasia, a condition often discovered during the first months of a baby’s life, which is the same phase that BabyBjörn develops products for.

Both organisations actively support the health and well-being of babies and their families, making the partnership a natural fit.

“The partnership with BabyBjörn will enable IHDI to strengthen the educational outreach further and give support to more families worldwide,” says Dr Pablo Castañeda, Medical Director of the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. “BabyBjörn is a fitting partner for IHDI because of its dedication to hip health.”

BabyBjörn, founded in 1961, has designed baby carriers since 1973. To date, the brand’s various models have carried over 50 million babies. The company’s purpose is to simplify life for parents with small children through innovative product development, which involves close cooperation with families, medical experts, and safety specialists.

“Babies’ wellbeing is our reason for being, and simplifying life for parents is our passion,” says Stina Westerstad, CEO of BabyBjörn. “We want to offer the best possible support to families, not only with products, but also with helpful communication. IHDI has been a close advisor for many years, and we are thrilled to strengthen our partnership further.”
