On Tuesday 19 November 2019, Fox Williams LLP will host its annual, free-to-attend, agentlaw seminar. Held at Fox Williams’ offices at 10 Finsbury Square, London, the seminar will be chaired by Stephen Sidkin, partner and head of the agentlaw team at Fox Williams.

The seminar will provide the latest legal information on agency law and distributorship law to suppliers and distributors as well as businesses using agents and the agents themselves.

It will also include guest speaker Oliver Segal QC. Segal will talk about the judgment in Green Deal Marketing and what we can learn from this most recent case concerning the Commercial Agents Regulations.

Other speakers will consider the following topics:
  • Sue now – but will you be damned later? How pre-emptive court actions may enable you to avoid liability to your distributors and agents. Evie Meleagros, senior associate.
  • Who or what is a commercial agent – will the European Court of Justice in Trendsetteuse Sarl alter English law (and without taking into account Brexit)? Emma Roake, legal director.
  • Thinking about the termination of your distributorship agreement? What can suppliers and distributors learn from the effect of Brexit? Lucy Coffey, associate.

Registration is at 6pm for a 6:30pm start. The seminar will run until 7.30pm. After the formal presentations there will be an opportunity to ask questions of the speakers. Following this, attendees can network over drinks and canapés.
