LabTech, owner of Camden Market, has confirmed the signing of four new retail operators to Buck Street Market – London’s first eco market.

The latest signings are handmade babywear retailer, Dress Up Baby; sustainability-focused lifestyle retailer, Londonworks; male grooming brand, Sweyn Forkbeard; and souvenir traders, To Home From London.

Buck Street Market will be Dress Up Baby’s third London market space alongside its present unit within Camden’s Stables Market and Spitalfields Market.

The brand will open its 74 sq. ft of space offering bespoke clothing, accessories and toys for babies using natural materials such as linen, merino wool and cotton.

The four retailers will join over 80 other food and retail brands committed to sustainable practices and processes.

LabTech’s commitment to sustainability at Buck Street Market includes the use of 88 recycled shipping containers to house the market. There are also recycling points set throughout the destination and zero-plastic on-site.

Furthermore, composting of food waste from the food and beverage traders will generate energy. This will then be fed back into the power grid to produce electricity.

Following the opening of Buck Street Market in March 2020 will be the launch of Hawley Wharf Camden; a 580,000 sq. ft mixed-scheme development due to open later this year.

Hawley Wharf will deliver a unique Camden-style ecosystem for visitors and workers. The canal-side mixed-use development will provide 150 shops. It will also include over 60 places to eat, 195 apartments and 50,000 sq. ft of co-working space.

Commenting is Maggie Milosavljevic, LabTech’s retail commercial director. “At Buck Street Market we are committed to delivering a revolutionary space that prioritises environmental education, conversation and positive change.

“Tailored towards the ‘conscious consumer’, our selection of local fashion retailers reflects our commitment towards championing sustainability, mirroring the aims held across our eco-conscious food and beverage portfolio.

“We are confident our selection of retailers will embrace the ethical aims held by Buck Street Market, delivering a vibrant and sustainable lifestyle destination.”
