Dumfries-based independent childrenswear boutique, Best Dressed Kidz, has opened a second store in Carlisle city centre. Customers were invited to attend the official opening of the new 1,065 sq. ft store at 2-4 English Street, Carlisle, on Saturday 23 November.

Commenting is the business’s founder, Greer Blackadder. “I’m taking a massive leap in opening my second UK store; I’m looking forward to getting to know our Cumbrian customers.

“Our customer is our main focus,” she continues. “Best Dressed Kidz’ passionate, fully trained staff have first-class product knowledge. They delight in giving the best one-to-one service and ensuring the selection of the correct size and style. We also source items for customers.”

Best Dressed Kidz was established nine years ago within a small shop on Dumfries’ historic Vennel.

After only a few months of trading, it was clear there was a need for larger premises. Best Dressed Kidz swiftly moved into a three-storey building on Bank Street, Dumfries, where it continues to trade today.

Best Dressed Kidz supports both British and continental brands with eco-friendly ethics, catering from tiny baby up to 12 years. Brands include Mayoral, Frugi and Sätila of Sweden.

The store also stocks Janod, the French brand of traditional toys and games produced from wood and cardboard. “These wonderful toys help develop skills through play and stimulate imagination,” explains Blackadder.

“The wooden push along toys and jigsaws are extremely popular. There’s also My First Dolls, a stunning range of vintage-inspired dolls suitable from birth.”

Best Dressed Kidz is now preparing for 2020, which will mark further exciting developments for the business with the opening of a footwear department in spring.

In addition to offering a wide collection of kids’ shoes, the department will also provide a children’s footwear fitting service.

As well as its two bricks and mortar stores, Best Dressed Kidz sells online and offers Click and Collect for local customers. Other services include a Pay Up Club, which enables customers to put down a deposit and spread payments over eight weeks; gift vouchers; VIP points redeemable against future purchases; and also a gift wrap service.
