Sustainable boys’ fashion brand Boy Wonder is set to reach millions of people after winning an advertising investment worth £10,000. The childrenswear brand produced its winning advert and was picked out by judges of Small Business Goes Big, a national competition that saw 10 businesses have their own-design advert displayed via digital screens across the UK.
The winning entry features the Boy Wonder model with the brand’s fish and chip patches. The text says, ‘Oh no, not another T-shirt ruined – don’t worry we design for messy kids, our clothing patches cover stains and holes.’ The advert was created on the new design app Adobe Express, which helps entrepreneurs design website pages, social media assets, branding and more.
Small Business Goes Big was launched earlier this year. Its creators are small business support platforms Enterprise Nation, Adobe and JC Decaux Nurture. The aim is to unleash small business creativity and help firms update their brand identity and reach more customers.
Boy Wonder’s winning advert features on JC Decaux’s portfolio of digital billboards, bus shelters and landmark buildings. The campaign will run for two weeks from Monday 22 August, reaching up to 10 million people nationwide.
Commenting is Ismay Mummery, founder of Boy Wonder. “I still can’t quite believe my Boy Wonder’s face will be appearing all around the country. My little brand will get so much incredible exposure. It will make a huge difference to our reach and hopefully give the business the boost that we really need.”
Also commenting is Emma Jones CBE, founder of small business support platform Enterprise Nation. “It’s so brilliant to see small businesses, as well as large, get the opportunity to see their names featured in prominent advertising spaces like this.
“It also shows that taking the time to develop your digital brand and design using practical apps like Adobe Express can make a big difference; often taking your business to another level. This competition has seen some strong digital designs and it’s been wonderful judging them.”
