Boy wearing read rucksack and Boy Wonder sweatshirt

Kidswear brand Boy Wonder is among Small Business Saturday UK’s most inspiring small firms. Founded by Ismay Mummery in 2016, the sustainable boys’ fashion brand is part of this year’s SmallBiz100 line-up, which showcases impressive, independent businesses from across the nation.

Now in its tenth year in the UK, Small Business Saturday will return on 3 December 2022 to support and celebrate the UK’s 5.5 million small businesses; particularly as they face mounting economic challenges over the winter.

Commenting on the campaign is brand founder, Ismay Mummery. “It is amazing to be chosen to be one of the SmallBiz100, as this year has been a real struggle. Campaigns like this help micro businesses like mine to amplify their voice to shout about what they do and why they do.

“For me, that is about creating a better, brighter, more sustainable future for my son, of which community and collaboration is a huge part perfectly embodied by the SmallBiz100 firms and Small Business Britain.”

Boy Wonder was profiled by the campaign on 26 September as part of the 100-day countdown to Small Business Saturday UK

Also commenting is Michelle Ovens CBE, director of Small Business Saturday UK. “It’s fantastic to celebrate small firms just like Boy Wonder as part of our 10-year anniversary of the campaign. Over the past decade, we have been able to spotlight dynamic businesses from across the nation, which remind us of the incredible tenacity and determination of small firms in this country. It’s brilliant to have Boy Wonder in this year’s SmallBiz100 line-up.”

Additional circular solutions

Boy Wonder garments come with extra growth room. They also include repair kits, care guides and clothing patches. Plus, there is a take-back scheme and a repair service. The new range of circular solutions includes customised preloved jackets and hand-me-down packs. There is also a sibling ‘style up’ add-on. This enables customers to get a free upgrade of patches, personalisation or refitting to pass the garment down to a sibling.
