CWB editor Laura Turner selects five must-have children’s fashion and footwear collections to get in store.
01: Fille Garçon
Launched this year, Fille Garçon (pictured above) was founded by Elizabeth Dore who, after a 20-year career as a fashion buyer and becoming a mother, wanted to create a kidswear brand offering unique, gender-neutral pieces built to last not just years, but decades. Designed in London, Fille Garçon specialises in heirloom-quality leather jackets for kids that tell a story, carry a legacy, and are made to be cherished. Each jacket is crafted in small-batch production using natural materials free of plastics, while a commitment to minimising waste includes repurposing scrap leather to make the most of every resource. The collection for 1-10 years currently includes 11 jackets, with overwear and knitwear to come later in the year.

02: Prenta
New children’s footwear brand Prenta blends a minimalist aesthetic with signature silhouettes and sustainable materials. The launch collection offers a tan, black and navy colourway in addition to trend-led greens and reds. Styles include first walkers, desert boots, Mary-Janes and T-bar shoes starting from UK size 2 up to UK size 10 for kids’ shoes. Crafted in England using supple leathers, every style promotes healthy foot development through lightweight, flexible soles that mimic barefoot walking, a latex foam insole, protective toe guards and cushioned ankle collars. The brand also offers AI technology that enables parents to obtain precise size measurements from the comfort of their own homes.

03: Piper & Cloth
The story of Piper & Cloth was born out of founder Yvonne Piper’s journey navigating her and her children’s sensitivities to dyes and chemicals in clothing. After struggling to find suitable options, Yvonne began sewing her own pieces using organic cotton and linen. What started as a personal necessity grew into a brand in 2021, one that is committed to offering heirloom-quality childrenswear free from harmful toxins. With a focus on timeless silhouettes, soft floral patterns and a neutral, earthy colour palette, the collection for newborn to 12 years features handcrafted pieces including dresses, rompers and separates, all made from high-quality, natural fabrics.

04: Amigos Footwear
Co-founded by two footwear specialists with over 40 years of combined experience, Amigos Footwear is a new eco-friendly kids’ shoe brand. The unisex range includes a durable and splashproof clog made with sugar cane – a renewable source that reduces CO emissions – which also has a removable insole to allow an extra half size of growth. The C-Mydas sandal has a sole and insole made from sugar cane, while the upper is made from 100% recycled polyester. Replacing synthetic plastics with biodegradable alternatives reduces the amount of microplastics in our oceans and helps protect vulnerable marine life, including endangered sea turtles, which Amigos Footwear incorporates into its designs.

05: Arquia
Launched last year, Arquia is a New York childrenswear brand offering gender-neutral palettes and easy mix-and-match options that make getting dressed quick and stress-free. Using Peruvian Pima cotton, the first collection for 0-18 months focuses on essentials for babies’ earliest stages. Highlights include bodysuits featuring fold-over necklines for easy dressing, simple snap closures and comfortable waistbands, alongside bright primary colours and playful colour block designs. Each piece is built to withstand wear and tear, making them ideal for passing down to siblings or friends. The brand’s second collection for Q1 2025 offers additional sizes up to five years.
