London-based Breitenstein Agencies, which specialises in children’s fashion and shoe brands, has added Salt-Water Sandals to its portfolio. The agency will be representing both the US shoe brand’s children’s and adults’ ranges in the UK.

An original design dating to the 40s, Salt-Water Sandals were originally made from scrap leather as a way to cope with leather shortages in World War II. Walter Hoy used the scraps to create a pair for his daughter, Margery.

Word soon spread and before long families from all over St. Louis were asking if Walter could make sandals for their children. Now, over 75 years on, Hoy shoes’ classic designs continue to deliver durable leather comfort with a fashion attitude.

Available in a wide choice of colours and designs, the shoes include rust-proof metal tongue buckles and a tough rubber sole. The Sun-San range, meanwhile, is built upon a bouncier urethane bonded base. Both ranges use 100% leather and have a coating of water-resistant sealant. The shoes also mould to the user’s feet with repeated wear.

Commenting on the new partnership is Inger Breitenstein, founder of Breitenstein Agencies.

“We’re celebrating our 20th anniversary this year, so it’s a great time to be working on this collaboration with Salt-Water. As a brand, Salt-Water has had huge success and grown really well all over the world. It’s now a firm household favourite for the summer, and we’re working with them to continue building strong customer relationships and secure the heritage of the brand in the UK market.”

Breitenstein Agencies is currently preparing for the s/s 23 selling season, which will include the launch of new on-trend colours. The brand will also be exhibiting at Playtime Paris on 2-4 July 2022. Buyers requiring further information can contact agency@breitensteins.com.
