Gloverall Royal visit shaking hands

Last week, HRH The Princess Royal visited British duffle coat brand Gloverall in her role as president of the UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT).

Home to the original duffle coat, the foundations of Gloverall were built on manufacturing quality British outerwear and date back to 1951. While the duffle coat remains key, the brand’s collection has grown over the years to encompass a variety of styles.

Working closely with skilled craftsmen across the British Isles, Gloverall continues to be at the forefront of British manufacture. This longstanding relationship has been built over generations to create genuine hardwearing product with both care and consideration.

The visit from HRH The Princess Royal marks almost 33 years since her last visit to the company on 14 November 1986. She also visited Gloverall’s sister company, Lochcarron of Scotland, in 2017 to celebrate its traditional tartan fabric manufacturing expertise.

To grow the business, Gloverall recently moved its head office from Northamptonshire to its original home in London.

Commenting is Adam Mansell, CEO of UKFT. “It is fantastic to recognise this brand that puts UK manufacturing at the heart of what it does. Gloverall boasts a contemporary look built on heritage, which is something we are proud to champion here at UKFT.”
