Casa Childrenswear, established by the founders of the award-winning Base Childrenswear retail chain, is an independent, family-owned retailer focused on high-quality, fashionable and sustainable clothing, gifts and toys. Following the successful opening of its flagship store in Bluewater in July 2024, the business set its sights on Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex, opening its second boutique in September 2025. Casa Childrenswear continues to make its mark on the retail landscape with the recent opening of its second location at Lakeside Shopping Centre. Building on the momentum of its successful Bluewater store, Casa Childrenswear has quickly established itself as a destination for quality childrenswear, innovative shopping experiences, and a thoughtfully curated selection of designer and boutique brands. Driven by a passion for serving families and a commitment to creating a welcoming atmosphere, Casa Childrenswear is redefining what it means to shop for children’s fashion in the heart of the community.
“After the success of our first shop in Bluewater, we felt there was room to grow and reach more families,” says joint managing director, Daniel Granditer. “Lakeside was the perfect choice – it’s a vibrant shopping destination with a strong customer base that already has a love for quality childrenswear.”
For the team behind Casa Childrenswear, the opening of the Lakeside store marks a significant milestone – one that brings their journey full circle. The founders, formerly owners and directors of Base Childrenswear, have found special meaning in rehiring former Base staff and welcoming back longtime customers. Familiar faces among both the team and customers have created a sense of continuity and renewed excitement. Many staff members who previously worked at Base have brought their passion and expertise to Casa, strengthening the brand’s reputation for excellent service.
“It really does feel like things have come full circle,” confirms Granditer. “Seeing familiar faces – both among our team and our customers – has been very special. Many of our staff worked with us at Base, and their passion and experience bring so much to Casa. We’ve also been delighted to reconnect with customers who remember us from those days.”

The community response to Casa Childrenswear’s new Lakeside store has been overwhelmingly positive. Local families and shoppers have shown enthusiastic support, eager to welcome a dedicated childrenswear retailer back to the area. The store has quickly become a cherished destination, with parents and children alike enjoying the inviting atmosphere and thoughtfully designed space.
A recent event organised in partnership with Cozy Crew Club, one of Casa Childrenswear’s top-selling brands, not only celebrated the collaboration between the two businesses but also generated excitement around the new store, strengthening its role as a community hub for local families.
“The Cozy Crew Club event was a fun and relaxed day where families could come and meet the brand’s team, enjoy exclusive offers, and take part in some creative activities for children,” says Granditer. “It was a great way to celebrate the partnership and bring a bit of extra buzz to the store.”
When shopping for their children, today’s parents prioritise quality, comfort and style, seeking out trusted brands that align with their values, with sustainability and timeless design increasingly influencing their choices. Casa Childrenswear closely monitors these evolving trends, carefully curating collections that meet the needs and preferences of modern families. Exceptional personal service remains at the heart of its approach, with expert staff always available to guide customers and ensure a positive shopping experience.

Casa Childrenswear distinguishes itself in the market by curating a diverse selection of designer labels alongside emerging boutique brands. The store’s approach centres on creating a personalised and inviting shopping environment, supported by knowledgeable staff who guide parents in finding the perfect items for their children. This unique blend of international brands and lifestyle products contributes to Casa Childrenswear’s distinctive identity. “We’re proud to offer a mix of well-loved designer labels alongside some newer, boutique brands that aren’t widely available elsewhere,” says Granditer.
“We’ve also created a shopping experience that’s personal and welcoming, with expert staff on hand to help parents find exactly what they’re looking for. It’s our unique combination of global brands and lifestyle products that gives our store a unique feel. Every time we attend a global trade exhibition, we make sure to try new brands, and thankfully, most have been very successful.”
Reflecting on the independent retail sector, Granditer emphasises the importance of staying true to one’s brand identity and genuinely prioritising customer relationships. Casa Childrenswear’s successful approach includes a commitment to personal service and fostering a sense of community and trust that sets them apart in the market.
“Stay true to your brand and your customers,” concludes Granditer. “Build relationships, both in-store and online, and always listen to feedback. Retail is about people as much as products, and that personal connection is what helps independents stand out.”
