Children's clothes displayed at the Children's Show trade fair

Children’s Show is a trade fair dedicated to presenting the very best of premium children’s fashion to buyers visiting New York during the busy trade show season. The inspiration for the event’s second edition on 29-30 July is one of New York’s most famous residents, Woody Allen, and in particular one of his most iconic movies – Manhattan, his glorious celebration of New York.

The Big Apple has long been a source of inspiration for artists, designers and filmmakers, and the organisers behind Children’s Show are allowing children’s fashion brands to be part of this city and its rich history of creativity.

Organised by IEG – Italian Exhibition Group SpA and built by FB International – Children’s Show boasts a pool of international partners. These include EMI Ente Moda Italia, Asperi (representing Spanish children’s fashion brands), and Mubri World (representing jewellery brands in partnership with Vicenza Oro).

Located at 417 5th Avenue, the Midtown venue is ideally located for visitors.

It is also around the corner from Sutton Place, another iconic destination in the Woody Allen movie. One of the most memorable images is in the movie’s promotional poster, where Diane Keaton and Woody Allen are seated on a bench in Sutton Place at sunrise silhouetted against the sky.

Children’s Show has immortalised this iconic scene in an exclusive video with two children as the lead protagonists, with the Diane Keaton character dressed head to toe in Monnalisa. For a true Italian connection, Sutton Place is also home to a replica of the Porcellino statue (the bronze wild boar), which is housed in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.

The show itself is spread across two days, with highlights including a runway show on Monday 29 July at 3pm curated by Junior Style’s Aleksandra Ataca, followed by cocktails and the Junior Style Awards celebration. On Tuesday 30 July, WGSN’s Head of Kids Content, Erin Rechner, will chair a ‘Future of Fashion’ talk at 12pm alongside a panel of industry professionals.

Exhibitors comprise a ‘who’s who’ of the children’s fashion industry, with confirmed brands including Monnalisa, Igor Shoes, Piccoli Principi Swimwear, Naturino, Oomphies, Richmond Kids, Bikkemberg, Sal & Pimenta, Colmar, Manila Grace, Fun&Fun and Mayoral.
