Luxury childrenswear destination, Childrensalon, is marking 70 years of “dressing children beautifully” with a series of special projects that launched on 26 September.
“As a member of our founding family, I have grown up with Childrensalon,” says Asher S. Harriman-Smith, Childrensalon’s co-chairman. “I am proud that what makes us different – our unique recipe of family, heritage, creativity and innovation first pioneered by my grandmother Sybil Harriman – continues to shine through in our 70th year.
“I hope that the exciting launches, projects and personal touches that we have planned this month will continue to inspire and delight our customers and their children around the world.”
Let’s Celebrate, directed by Rebecca Manley
Childrensalon has created a short film to celebrate its important milestone. Directed by Rebecca Manley and produced by Starling Film, the 40-second piece portrays Childrensalon as “an honorary part of the family”; present for every special moment.
This creative piece offers a glimpse into the lives of five children. It is brought to life through fanciful props and captivating characters to convey the retailer’s vision for dressing children beautifully throughout every stage of life.
Capturing the playfulness and creativity of childhood, the characters are dressed in clothes from Childrensalon’s a/w 22 edit. The film is also accompanied by an a/w 22 campaign photographed by Damian Weilers and styled by the Childrensalon team.
Beatrice & George in collaboration with Childrensalon
Heritage-inspired brand Beatrice & George has collaborated with Childrensalon on an exclusive capsule anniversary collection. The new range centres around the specially commissioned Sybil print, inspired by and named after Childrensalon founder Sybil Harriman.
In addition to vintage florals and a palette of classic blues, the collection includes the Joy dress and complementary buster suit. Replicating a dress worn by Sybil’s daughters, the reimagined piece features Dupion fabric and traditional hand-smocking techniques.
The Sybil print will also be present on the Childrensalon 70th birthday teddy bear. This timeless collectable comes with a Sybil-print dust bag and matching bow tie.
Atelier collection by Childrensalon Occasions
Curated and designed by the retailer’s in-house team, the Childrensalon Occasions range sets the scene. Making its debut in September 2022 is the Atelier collection.
Featuring tiered tulle detailing and embellishment, the retailer is introducing two dresses to the collection named after founder Sybil Harriman’s daughters, Michele and Puppe. With 12 pieces available in each variation, these keepsake designs will complement the a/w 22 collection.
The 70th Anniversary Auction
Finally, Childrensalon has invited some of the world’s most loved childrenswear brands to collaborate on a 70-hour online charity auction. All proceeds will be donated to three charities supported by The Childrensalon Foundation: Nourish, Porridge & Pens and also Sistah Space.
The auction has over 50 collectable lots donated by Childrensalon’s extended family, including Moncler, Monnalisa and Mini Rodini. Available to preview from 28 September, bidding for the auction officially opens on 4 October.
