This week, a group of independent schoolwear retailers joined David Luke and the Circular Textiles Foundation (CTF) for a webinar to go ‘Beyond the Bottle’ and celebrate the forthcoming launch of the first recyclable school blazers and jackets.

During the hour-long session, guests heard from Tim Cross, founder of the CTF, to gain further understating of the organisation and to hear how it is working with David Luke to produce the first circular blazers and jackets. Communicating what circularity means to the schoolwear industry and why it’s so important to embrace this innovation formed the foundation of Cross’s presentation, which was then followed by a Q&A.

The second part of the webinar focused on storytelling.

David Luke’s Sustainability and Trade Marketing Lead, Samantha Leigh, together with Head of Engagement, Tess Gee, shared news about the resources available to retailers to help them tell their own circular story. A wide range of personalised assets, digital resources and a social media toolkit will also be available to retailers looking to share this innovative story with their schools and local community.

Commenting is Kathryn Shuttleworth, MD of The Parently Group. “We see that school retail stockists have such a great opportunity to educate their schools and customers on the subject of circularity and we want to support them by providing the tools that will help them stand out. We were delighted to see so many of our valued customers online and look forward to evolving our eco story together with the launch of our circular blazer.”
