Riley Studio is due to launch Little Riley Studio, a range of eco-friendly baby and children’s clothing available to pre-order online on Earth Day, 22 April.
Riley Studio puts sustainability and eco-innovation at the core of everything it does; setting out to create a wardrobe of gender-neutral staples that are kind on the planet. A key part of its mission is to educate consumers on how they can all help to reverse climate change in their daily lives. The brand also believes the education of future generations is integral to the future of our planet.
For this reason, Earth Day on 22 April will mark Little Riley Studio’s launch; helping to educate the little change-makers of the world on the importance of protecting our planet.
As with Riley Studio’s adult range, Little Riley Studio is also gender-neutral and will offer a fully sustainable option for children’s clothing. This is alongside encouraging a circular solution for parents by increasing the clothes’ longevity and lifespan.
Little Riley Studio will launch with the brand’s bestselling loungewear styles. Highlights include mini-me versions of T-shirts, sweatshirts, joggers and shorts.
The children’s clothing starts from 12 months through to 5 years.
Commenting is Riley Uggla, founder of Riley Studio. “As a mother, I have always been very conscious of the materials I use and make sure that anything I purchase is natural and sustainable to protect both my son as well as the environment. I wanted to create clothes for children with the same ethos, qualities and brand values as Riley Studio. This felt like a very natural step for the brand.”
The ethos, ‘We Create from Waste’, remains at the core of the brand and sees styles crafted from pre-and post-consumer waste materials. The brand sources every element of the collection sustainably; reducing the impact on the environment as well as re-diverting waste that would otherwise go to landfill.
Little Riley Studio Recycled Loungewear uses Recover® across its sweatshirts, tracksuit pants and hoodies. It is 100% recycled, crafted from 50% recycled cotton and 50% recycled polyester from plastic bottles.
Little Riley Studio T-shirts, meanwhile, use Recot. Recot is a mixture of recycled cotton and GOTS certified organic cotton and is used across the Jersey T-shirt range. The yarn is comparable with organic cotton in terms of quality. However, it has a better eco-balance, with 25% recycled cotton from pre-consumer waste and 75% organic cotton.
