CWB editor Laura Turner

Laura Turner, editor of Childrenswear Buyer (CWB), will take sole ownership of the leading trade magazine as of the September/October print issue. Turner, who joined CWB in 2004 and has been editor since 2008, will fully own the publishing business and run it independently.

Established in 1999, CWB is the only UK B2B title dedicated to the entire childrenswear industry, from fashion through to schoolwear. Serving independent retailers, buyers, manufacturers, agents, suppliers and trade shows − both in print and online − CWB brings its readers the inside story on the childrenswear trade across the UK and overseas.

The essential resource for the childrenswear industry

Turner, who will continue to work alongside the magazine’s original design team, says, “It is such an honour to be heading up this next phase of CWB’s journey. I began my career in journalism in 2004 working across a portfolio of fashion trade magazines, including CWB. I covered everything from menswear and womenswear to footwear and lingerie. Childrenswear, however, was my calling.

“Having spent my career working on CWB, I’m truly delighted to be taking ownership of the business and further developing the title to meet the needs of the industry. I’d like to thank all of our readers, advertisers and contributors for their continued support and look forward to working together in this exciting new chapter.”

NCWA chairman, Sharon Beardsworth, said how delighted the NCWA Council was that it had been able to give this opportunity to Laura. “We believe that this is a positive step forward for the childrenswear industry and we wish Laura every success in this new venture.”
