A row of seated people taking notes in a Fashion Law seminar

In conjunction with the UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT), Fox Williams is hosting a joint seminar on 21 September at UKFT’s office highlighting key issues fashion businesses need to consider in today’s market. The seminar will cover the following topics:

  • Pop-ups – What are the issues you need to know about?

Legal director Rebecca Facey will explain the pros and cons of pop-ups for fashion brands, sharing top tips for negotiating the terms of your agreement and highlighting what you need to consider when the agreement ends. Facey will also look briefly at some of the implications for UK brands taking part in pop-up activity outside of the UK.

  • Directors’ responsibilities and liabilities – What to do when your company is facing bankruptcy in an unpredictable financial climate. As a director can you be pursued and sued?

Senior associate Sarah Carlton will outline the legal responsibilities company directors have and potential personal liabilities that exist when a company is heading towards insolvency.

  • Getting paid – What do brands and suppliers need to know when it comes to getting paid?

Partner Stephen Sidkin will highlight the key issues given today’s financial climate.

The discussion will be led and chaired by Fox Williams partner Stephen Sidkin and UKFT’s director of international business, Paul Alger. After the formal presentations, there will be a Q&A session followed by networking drinks.
