Fashion Law Seminar people sitting

Fox Williams LLP is holding its annual Fashion Law Seminar in London on 15 October 2019. The seminar, which is free to attend, also provides the opportunity to network with others from the fashion industry.

This year’s seminar includes two guest speakers.

Simon Carter, founder of the eponymous British fashion design company, will be talking on the subject of ‘The High Street in the Post Stuff Age; how in-store fashion retail can survive and prosper and why online is not the be-all and end-all’.

Meanwhile, James Child, head of retail and industrial research at Estates Gazette, will be presenting ‘Retail fit for purpose: In and out of Fashion’. Child specialises in the analysis of occupier, planning, investment and development trends in the retail and industrial real estate sector.

Furthermore, a review of the ICO’s website reveals that every month the ICO is looking at businesses of all shapes and sizes in respect of their non-compliance with data protection law. With this in mind, Helen Farr, a specialist employment law partner at Fox Williams, will discuss; ‘GDPR: the five key issues for fashion businesses when managing staff members’ personal data’.

A key aspect for a successful fashion brand is the price at which it sits. Stephen Sidkin, commercial law partner at Fox Williams, will speak on the subject of ‘Prices and the law: where are we in maintaining and imposing resale prices on buyers – and will Brexit make any difference?’
