The Association of Suppliers to the British Clothing Industry (ASBCI) is hosting its second free webinar in the Beyond 2020 series. Taking place on 3 March 2021, it brings together experts in consumer behaviour, data analysis, logistics and retail. It will assess how the pandemic has changed consumer buying patterns and also how retailers can adapt to stay ahead.

Covid-19 has changed how people buy but also what, when and where they buy it.

National and regional lockdowns have closed high streets and changed people’s attitudes to shopping, perhaps forever. Furthermore, the inevitable shift online – already well underway before the pandemic – has accelerated; transforming consumer expectations of both stock availability and delivery times.

So how can retailers and the wider supply chain adapt to rapidly changing trends and a disrupted business environment while satisfying increasingly demanding and more socially conscious consumers?

The next webinar in the ASBCI’s Beyond 2020 series, organised with event partner Eurofins, will explore the post-pandemic digital opportunity for the UK’s fashion sector.

Also, why digital transformation has become an imperative rather than an aspiration. Experts will drill down into the hows and whys and the winners and losers; also the strategies that separate one from the other.

Martin Corcoran from Summit Media has pioneered the use of data and insights in performance marketing and customer strategy for 15 years. He will analyse the way certain retailers are using online as their primary marketing and sales channels. Plus, how alongside the likes of Google, Facebook and Amazon, they have changed the game when it comes to acquiring and retaining customers.

The webinar will also cover the expansion of omnichannel strategies; reflecting retailers driving sales by increasing the number and variety of routes to market.

Drawing on the experiences of multiple retailer clients as well as data from research conducted in August 2020, Advanced Supply Chain Group’s business and client development director, Caroline Ellis, and business solutions director, Will Robinson, will provide insights into how retailers have responded to the challenges of the pandemic.

Also, the longer-term trends that can and will impact supply chains and stock inventory management going forward. Additionally, they will delve into the technologies that retailers can use to operate an intelligent supply chain.

Also joining the speakers will be Frazer Mead, head of global sourcing at The Very Group. Mead will take part in a live panel debate and Q&A moderated by ASBCI event director, Dr Julie King.

The Smart Consumers Beyond 2020 webinar is the second in the ASBCI’s new event series. The series concludes with the Beyond 2020: Survival of the Smartest digital conference in May 2021.

The webinar takes place on 3 March 2021 at 10.30am. Click here to book your free place. For further information on the ASBCI, please click here.
