Goods for Good volunteers stood in a row

Watford-based humanitarian aid charity, Goods for Good, is participating in the AVIVA Financial Hardship Crowdfunder. In just a few days, it has raised over £5,000. However, it needs help to reach its target before the New Year.

The charity is raising funds to assist those who are struggling to survive the worst effects of the cost of living crisis in the UK. It is committed to reaching a target of £25,000 by 5 January 2023, with every £1 being matched by AVIVA’s Community fund.

This year the charity has delivered over £2.7M worth of essential goods to thousands of people in vulnerable communities in the UK through 105 charity partners

Sourcing goods from corporate partners including Dune, UNIQLO, Wide Fit Shoes, Focus Brands, Result Clothing, NEXT, and Stormtech, the charity has provided warm clothing, bedding, hygiene products and other essential day-to-day items.

However, the impact of the current economy has induced a cycle of poverty, with many at risk of losing lives due to extreme weather conditions or the inability to feed their families. To meet the day-to-day needs of the community, the demand for essential goods from charity partners has risen significantly.

The vision of the charity’s CEO and founder, Rosalind Bluestone, is to create a sense of togetherness amongst businesses and the local community. By taking overstocked and surplus goods from corporates and redistributing them to those with very little, the charity bridges the gap between the public and private sector.

For every £1 donated to its campaign, the charity will be able to provide £50 worth of goods to those in desperate need

“As the severe cold winter affects millions of vulnerable people at home and overseas, we have swiftly ramped up our operations to despatch an unprecedented volume of warm winter, essential goods,” says Bluestone. “Together with you, our supporters, and over 200 corporate companies, we can act swiftly and efficiently delivering practical goods.”
