Kate Hills of Make it British Live! in black and pink dress

Make it British Live!, the annual trade show for UK manufacturers and suppliers, is working towards being as sustainable an event as possible.

The 2020 edition, which will take place at London’s Business Design Centre on the earlier dates of 17-18 March, is set to incorporate a number of changes.

For instance, in a bid to significantly reduce the need for plastic, paper and printing, the show will not be printing any single-use badges or lanyards next year. Instead, each visitor will be given a reusable metal pin badge to allow entry into the show.

The venue will also feature more easily accessible recycling options for both visitors and exhibitors. The catering at Make it British Live!, meanwhile, will aim to reduce or eliminate all single-use plastics. That means no plastic bottles, plates or cutlery.

All talks at Make it British Live! 2020 will focus on how the industry can be more sustainable.

Furthermore, the event has taken the decision to no longer print out its show guide. In its place the event will offer an interactive app. As well as the latest in AI to match-make visitors with the right connections, the app will also be available before the event to help visitors plan in advance.

Organised by Make it British founder Kate Hills (pictured), Make it British Live! is the only sourcing event exclusively showcasing British manufacturers and producers. The two-day event includes workshops and a trade show with over 200 exhibitors.
