Vild – House of Little, which creates high-quality basics, limited edition print collections and accessories for children aged 0-6 years, offers a trans-seasonal model in line with its environmental commitments.

Mindfully designed by Allison Mitchel-Nilson, Vild has been an ethical, organic, planet-friendly brand since its launch. It focuses on small production runs, short orders and deliveries throughout the year, working with its core collection of highly eco-conscious materials. Buyers, therefore, can partner with Vild at any time as well as reorder through the season.

The brand’s garments and accessories are ethically manufactured in Europe and Fairtrade factories in India using eco-friendly materials. Every aspect is considered, including the sourcing of a varied fibre basket; creation of high-quality materials; sustainable designs; sizing; trans-seasonal qualities, and also the life span of each product.

Vild continues to champion a new era of textiles.

This includes Tencel™ and LENZING™ ECOVERO™, fabrics that use natural wood material. Vild also has a collection using a material called SeaCell™. This is a fibre featuring renewable resources where seaweed is washed, ground and then incorporated into a cellulous fibre.

Furthermore, Vild uses fabrics that are GOTS and OEKO-TEX Standard 100, with organisations that are SA-8000/ BSCI certified and it works with Fairtrade, Upmade, BCI and OCS partners. It also uses natural plant dyes, including natural Palmetto, a leaf plant dye; Beetroot plant; Bitter Orange; Madder, and Meyna Laxiflora plant dyes. For 2022, the brand is now incorporating mineral dyes into its collection.

Vild Lab No.12 Collection – Earth Rocks!

Earth Rocks! takes inspiration from both the colours and natural forms found throughout the layers of the Earth. Combining contemporary environmental thinking with new scientific innovation in the textiles industry, Vild’s introduction of mineral dyes involves natural earth pigments taken from different areas in Europe.

These mineral substances come from nature and exert minimal environmental impact. The process to procure these dyes is also less impactful on the environment than conventional dying. This in turn saves on water and energy usage whilst retaining fabric strength.

The rock and gemstone Vild Lab printed pieces include a colourful hand-painted illustration on GOTS organic cotton woven shirts; deconstructed abstract rock shape designs embroidered on T-shirts and intarsia knit pullovers and blankets; and rich shades of dark red jasper and amethyst featuring on boxy jackets, plus upcycled colour block quilted blankets.
