The British Independent Retailers Association (Bira) is encouraging independent retailers to embrace artificial intelligence (AI) to help revolutionise the high street in its latest podcast.
The new episode from the High Street Matters podcast series explores how AI technology can transform small businesses and breathe new life into town centres. Bira, which works with over 6,000 independent businesses of all sizes across the UK, launched the podcast series earlier this year to address crucial issues facing high street retailers.
This fourth instalment, titled ‘AI and Retail – Boost Your Social Media Output with AI,’ features insights from industry experts and successful retailers who have already seen benefits from adopting AI solutions. Hosted by journalist Steve Dyson, it includes an in-depth interview with Polly Barnfield, founder and chief executive of Maybe, a company specialising in AI solutions for retailers.
Commenting is Andrew Goodacre (pictured above), CEO of Bira. “AI is no longer just a buzzword – it’s becoming an essential tool for retailers of all sizes. This episode demonstrates how independent shops can harness AI to enhance their digital presence, increase footfall, and ultimately boost revenues.”
The podcast also highlights the partnership between Bira and Maybe, offering members access to AI-powered tools at a discounted rate. Polly Barnfield of Maybe adds: “Our AI solution helps traders create engaging social media content effortlessly, saving time and resources while effectively reaching their target audience.”
Key topics covered in the podcast include how AI can help create personalised content for social media and websites; the impact of AI on customer engagement and footfall; cost-effective AI solutions for small businesses; as well as real-world examples of AI success in independent retail.
