Established in 2012, Lefrik started out designing urban bags, backpacks and travel essentials using the highest quality eco-friendly fabrics made out of recycled plastic PET bottles. This summer it is launching a Back to School range featuring backpacks and matching pencil cases.
Lefrik contributes to the environment by reducing the use of virgin polyester. Instead, it extends the life of discarded plastic bottles while saving energy in the production process. Using only two fabrics also allows the brand to reduce its carbon footprint and increase its production efficiency.
Lefrik’s high-performing, durable and eco-friendly range is designed in Spain and ethically manufactured in Asia. The primary focus of the products is that they are functional, using lightweight resistant fabrics and simple designs.
The company continuously challenges itself to investigate new materials, styles and concepts.
Lefrik believes that because companies profit from the resources they take from the earth, they should protect those resources in return. For this reason, the brand is a member of 1% for the planet. This sees it donate 1% of its total yearly income to the organisation.
It is also a member of the Common Objective platform by the Ethical Fashion Forum. Furthermore, it has been approved as vegan by PETA and its fabrics are certified by Global Recycled Standard. Plus, its supply factory has been audited by SEDEX and has passed the SMETA 4 pillars in ethical practices.
Lefrik is now striving to become a member of the Fair Wear Foundation, which aims to make fashion fair for everyone across the supply chain.
