Three black girls' school shoes by Little Green Feet

Full-service footwear company, JBI Footwear, has launched Little Green Feet, a new sustainable school shoe collection made from recycled materials.

Little Green Feet is founded on a passion for educating future generations and helping children have fun getting involved in safeguarding the planet. For this reason, the brand has a partnership with The Wildlife Trust charity for Lancashire, Manchester & North Merseyside.

As well as donating to the charity with every sale, Little Green Feet includes a packet of wildflower seeds with each pair of shoes, which children can grow at home to see the benefits of nature and wildlife.

The collection comprises three girls’ styles and two boys’ styles. Tying in with the brand’s nature theme, meanwhile, are the characters Ellie the Bee and Sam the Spider.

Commenting on the inspiration for the brand is account manager, Claire Ireland. “We’d discussed creating a new Back to School range but wanted to make a difference. Our passion for sustainability and making a change for the better led us to create a recycled school shoe collection. However, we still felt we wanted to give more back to create a better world for us to live in.

“Our idea for children to give back to nature led us to include a free packet of wildflower seeds with every pair of shoes sold, and a donation to The Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester & North Merseyside seemed a natural partnership. We also send any unwanted samples to Upcycle Labs to be turned into various new products including Bee Bricks to support UK wildlife.”

Thanks to JBI’s SATRA-accredited fit technicians, Little Green Feet’s recycled school collection is graded to UK specifications.

JBI is part of the Sutton Group of companies, which has its own charitable trust − The Riverside & Florence Trusts − that was established in 1972 to benefit communities within which the Group operates. Since 2010, the trusts have supported hundreds of charities, schools, institutions and local communities with more than £2 million in donations.
