Little Green Radicals has unveiled a new collection with the Natural History Museum, celebrating the colourful creatures children can spot here in the UK. Titled Finding the Extraordinary, it includes vividly coloured insects such as the rainbow leaf beetle and the 22-spot ladybird, and distinctive bird species like the mandarin duck.

The 14-piece limited-edition collection comprises pyjamas, tops, leggings and a drawstring bag, as well as two adaptive styles – a T-shirt with feeding tube access and extra-long joggers with leg openings – all featuring a variety of curious critters and creatures.

A Fix It Kit of embroidered patches is also available, helping prolong the life of little clothes taking on big adventures.

Whether it’s spots, stripes, vivid colours, or distinctive patterns, the collection’s remarkable species offer engaging learning opportunities for young enthusiasts. It also serves as an introduction to lesser-known, yet equally fascinating animals found nearby, making it ideal for young nature explorers interested in discovering the wonders of their local environment.

Discussing the collaboration is Juliet Evans, marketing director at Little Green Radicals. “For this collection, we wanted to shine a light on some of the extraordinary creatures that can be found right here in the UK. Our designer, Josie Bragg, delved into the Museum’s incredible archives and drew inspiration from remarkable illustrator Maud Horman-Fisher, who worked there in 1879, at a time when few women were recognised in science. Josie has reimagined some of Maud’s beautiful illustrations as colourful, playful prints for a new generation of young adventurers.”

Also commenting is Louisa Skevington, Natural History Museum Licensing Manager.

“We are delighted to be launching this beautiful collection with Little Green Radicals. Our children’s licensing programme aims to inspire a love of the natural world for future generations, and this collection encourages curiosity in the wonder that can be found all around us.

“It is fantastic to see care for the planet reflected in the collection, which is made from organic and Fairtrade cotton, and includes embroidered patches that can be used to give new life to clothes that have become worn after adventures. The inclusivity of this collection, which includes two adaptive styles, also wonderfully reflects how nature and our Museum are for everyone.”
