London-based childrenswear brand Little Green Radicals, which has been blazing a trail for ethical fashion for nearly 20 years using organic Fairtrade cotton and sustainable materials, is launching a new range of Fairtrade natural rubber boots for kids.
Fair Rubber certifies natural rubber tapped in Sri Lanka using Fairtrade standards that ensure the working and living conditions of the primary producers of natural latex, whilst also preserving the natural life cycle of the rubber trees.
“At Little Green Radicals, we never rest on our laurels,” says brand founder, Nick Pecorelli. “No pesticides. A premium for cotton farmers. And now Fairtrade Rubber. We design with respect for people and planet. We design to last and for life.”
With a flexible natural rubber outer layer plus a soft inner lining, the boots are made to be worn year-round and come with gripped calendar soles.
The boots are available in two styles: Classic, in a blue clouds or red apples print, and Ankle, which is available in gold or green colour block. UK sizes range from 3 to 13. The boots’ outer is made using 90% Fairtrade natural rubber and 10% synthetic rubber. The lining, meanwhile, features 85% natural rubber foam and 15% synthetic rubber wrapped in recycled polyester.
Featuring a matt finish, the boots are 100% waterproof, breathable and lined for extra warmth and comfort. They are also unisex in design and robust so that they can be passed along from one child to another.
The Little Green Radicals team will be back showcasing the new collections at two international trade shows this summer. The a/w 24 and s/s 25 collections will be available to view at both Playtime Paris and Innatex in Germany.
The boots are available to order now for delivery in August 2024. For further information on Little Green Radicals, please click here.
