Made in UK Day

Following the success of last year’s first Made in UK Day, Make it British − a community of UK-made brands and manufacturers – is running the campaign again.

Taking place on 9 March 2022, the campaign is calling on everyone to celebrate UK makers by buying something made here in the UK. It is also promoting UK-made to lower carbon footprint; save essential skills; create job opportunities; promote UK craftsmanship, and boost local economies.

Businesses can get involved by downloading the campaign’s 2022 championing pack. The pack includes resources to share across all platforms, including a campaign poster and graphics.

Make it British was founded on 9 March 2011 by ex-retail buyer Kate Hills.

Over the last 10 years, Make it British has been visited by more than 6.5 million people looking to buy UK-made products and search out UK manufacturers.

UK manufacturing is worth £192 billion to the UK economy and employs 2.7 million people. Plus, more than 65 million people live in the UK. If everyone bought just one item made in the UK worth £20 on #madeinukday, it would be worth £1.3 billion.
