Make it British Live Business Design Centre

In light of the Covid-19 outbreak now being a pandemic, Make it British Live! has postponed its 2020 event until further notice. However, it is now planning a virtual event to take place in May 2020.

The two-day conference and trade show was due to run on 17-18 March 2020 at the Business Design Centre, Islington.

Commenting on the development is Kate Hills, CEO of Make it British. “This was not a decision that we took lightly. We tried hard not to do this, but we no longer feel that the decision to keep ‘business as usual’ is in line with worldwide medical developments.”

“We know people need UK manufacturers now more than ever,” continues Hills. “So, we are planning the Make it British Virtual Expo, which will take place online at the end of May.

“The virtual event will include everything that the live event does, including the conference, networking and also the workshops. Each exhibitor will have their own virtual booth that they will be able to ‘man’ for the duration of the show using a webcam that can be attached to any computer.

“We are confident that it will provide the platform that UK manufacturers and British-made brands rightly deserve.”

The virtual expo model and software platform that Make it British Live! is using has already proven to be successful for other large events.

The event is automatically transferring all visitor tickets to the virtual expo in May. (They are also redeemable against tickets for a re-scheduled live show.)

“We understand that everyone will be eager to know more about how the virtual expo will work, as well as when the postponed live event will happen,” adds Hills. “Further updates will be provided as soon as possible.”
