M&S building with sign on grass wall - Rainbow Sale

M&S’s Rainbow Sale, where 10% of the purchase price of each item across womenswear, menswear, kidswear and home was donated to NHS Charities Together, has now finished. The campaign completes having raised over £8 million for NHS staff, volunteers and patients.

The first sale of its kind for the retailer, the Rainbow Sale ran alongside several other fundraising initiatives. This includes M&S’s ‘All in This Together’ T-shirts launched in April supported by M&S ambassador Holly Willoughby. There were also bespoke bags for life in M&S Foodhalls as well as in-store till donations.

M&S will now continue to play its part in protecting the NHS.

Whilst the Rainbow sale has ended, M&S is committing to continue its support by urging customers to sign up for its digital loyalty scheme, Sparks. There, customers can select a charity from a choice of 30 – including NHS Charities Together – for a donation to be made each time they shop in-store, online or through the M&S app.

In fact, 24,000 customers have already selected the charity and are making a difference to NHS staff, volunteers and patients. Everything from buying school uniform through to a dine-in deal or a new sofa.

Commenting is Ellie Orton, CEO of NHS Charities Together. “I can’t thank M&S customers enough; £8m is beyond what we could have ever dreamed of. The money you have raised is already making a huge difference for the NHS staff and volunteers who have been there for all of us during the Covid crisis.”
