Occasionwear brand Neeva D London, which launched into childrenswear amid the pandemic, is focusing on giving back this festive season.
London-based fashion designer Neeva-D launched her eponymous brand in 2015 and is known for her dual heritage (London and Kolkata, India) influenced bespoke women’s occasionwear. The brand’s recent expansion sees it move into childrenswear, specialising in girlswear with the same brand values.
The childrenswear debut comprises a capsule of occasionwear for girls age 2 to 10 years.
Commenting is brand designer and founder, Neeva-D. “Despite the pandemic, we have decided to launch our childrenswear collection. We know many children from disadvantaged communities, whether they are in the UK or India, have been experiencing physical and emotional challenges; particularly during this pandemic.
“We want to be there to support them in any way we can. So, every sale we make in this festive season, we will donate 10% to a children’s charity that supports physical health and mental wellbeing of kids who have been affected during this terrible time.”
The children’s collection comprises 23 dresses, each with a name and story behind it.
The childrenswear range also includes hair accessories and statement pouch bags for all occasions. Neeva D’s trademark style of intricate artistry of hand-embellishment, delicate Chantilly lace appliqué and discreetly hidden side pockets feature throughout.
Each of the brand’s garments is handmade by artisans Neeva-D has personally discovered, trained and nurtured, many from Kolkata’s poorest backgrounds. This provides employment for parents as well as enabling their children to go to school.
