This month sees Mini Boden launch a new range of planet friendly swimwear for babies and children.

The swimwear is created using a stretchy blend of fabrics including Econyl® regenerated nylon, which is made from old fishing nets and recycled materials.

Available for both babies and children, baby styles range from size 3 to 6 months up to 3 to 4 years. Children’s styles, meanwhile, are available from ages 2 to 12 years.

The planet friendly swimwear range comprises six pieces. These include a swimsuit, swim trunks, surf shorts, surf suits, a swim hat and a rash vest.

Prints in the planet friendly range are hand-drawn by Mini Boden’s in-house design team and take inspiration from nature.

Highlights include an all-over print featuring animals such as leopards and monkeys as well as snow-topped mountains and erupting volcanos.

Building a more sustainable business

Boden takes climate change extremely seriously and is constantly taking steps to reduce its environmental impact.

It is looking at everything it does to see if it can be using more sustainable materials, reducing waste and working more efficiently; including using regenerated fibres in its swimwear.

Other examples include Boden introducing organic cotton to its Baby range. In 2018, it also signed up to the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI). BCI is the largest cotton sustainability programme in the world; providing training on sustainable farming practices to more than two million cotton farmers in 21 countries.

The company also signed the RSN Cotton Pledges in 2018, which means it commits to not knowingly sourcing cotton from Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
