Manchester schoolwear supplier One+All (previously Rowlinson Knitwear) has made it onto B Corporation’s ‘Best for the World™’ 2021 list for how it treats its workers.
As a certified B Corporation (B Corp), One+All meets the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance. Making it onto the B Corp Best for the World™ list means the company is amongst the top 5% of similar-sized B Corps worldwide, for the positive impact it has made on its workforce.
“Gaining this recognition is a fantastic endorsement,” says Donald Moore, chair of One+All. “As a 100% employee-owned company that makes sure what we do is for the greater good of everyone, being regarded as a role model for others to follow is a real achievement; especially as we’ve been certified as a B Corp for less than a year.”
As well as being a B Corporation and employee-owned, One+All is an accredited Living Wage employer.
It is also a member of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter and a full member of the Ethical Trading initiative. Plus, the company is an accredited carbon literate organisation. This sees all colleagues educated about the climate crisis and money-saving carbon reduction techniques.
One+All not only ensures its UK colleagues are looked after and treated fairly and respectfully. It also works closely with its factories. It ensures all overseas workers receive a living wage, have a voice, and work in safe and healthy conditions. As part of this, the schoolwear business has gifted water filter systems and sanitary products to its Bangladeshi workers; alleviating illness from contaminated drinking water and reducing period poverty.
