Launched in August 2020 by Daniella Walters, Pepi Collection is a new brand of modern reusable nappies. With the UK currently throwing away three billion single-use nappies a year, London-based Pepi Collection seeks to provide an eco-friendly alternative to single-use nappies.
The debut collection comprises eight nappy designs. Four designer nappies featuring hand-drawn illustrations together with four block colour nappies. Each nappy also comes with two absorbent bamboo mix inserts.
Additionally, the brand’s nappies offer a custom fit system. Adjustable snaps mean that the nappy fits babies from birth through to potty training.
As such, 30 Pepi nappies can save families around 6,000 nappies for each child.
Commenting on Pepi Collection and the inspiration behind its creation is founder, Daniella Walters. “When we became parents for the first time, we were astonished at the amount of waste from nappies that we were producing. Nappies made up nearly 10% of our household waste.
“Furthermore, the UK throws away three billion single-use nappies a year, which take 500 years to break down in the landfill. We saw reusable nappies as an eco-friendly alternative to single-use nappies. So, we sought to design a nappy that was user friendly, absorbent and gorgeous to look at.
“By using Pepi Collection nappies, families can also save money,” continues Walters. “Parents can spend around £1,885 on disposable nappies, nappy sacks and baby wipes during the first two and a half years of a baby’s life. The average cost for reusable nappies is £400, a whopping saving of £1,475 or more.”
