From 16 July to 9 October 2020, the new Pitti Immagine website is hosting Pitti Connect, the digital platform presenting the summer edition of Pitti Bimbo 91. Furthermore, the offering of collaborative content, events and digital projects will continuously renew to inspire visitors.

Commenting on the platform is Agostino Poletto, general manager of Pitti Immagine. “The doors of Pitti Connect opened on Thursday 16 July. After months of hard work, we are presenting ourselves to the international fashion audience with a new online face. Until 30 October our special fairs are online with the summer collections of brands and exhibiting companies.”

To date, Pitti Connect is hosting around 400 exhibitors across Pitti Bimbo, Uomo and Filati.

“We were looking for immediate solutions, we found long term opportunities,” continues Poletto. “Pitti Connect has led to a great acceleration in the technological and virtual fields for our fairs. It concretely represents the element of continuity that will carry us towards January 2021, when the physical and digital fairs will become completely integrated.”

Lapo Cianchi, Pitti Immagine’s communication and special events director, adds; “Pitti Connect will also have an editorial format that is rich in content and special events. This will render the atmosphere of the real fairs in the digital sphere; involving leading figures in fashion, artists and key people on the current cultural scene. A multi-faceted web magazine that we have rechristened The Billboard.”

The Billboard is Pitti Bimbo 91’s schedule of events and special projects.

The editorial content programme is running on Pitti Connect from July through to October. For a day-by-day calendar, check The Billboard section on the Pitti Immagine website.

Out of the Blue image for Pitti Bimbo

Curated by Angelo Figus, the theme of the summer is ‘Out of the Blue’.

An expression of surprise and wonder filtered through a colour – blue – the leading theme of the Pitti trade shows’ summer editions is being presented digitally via Pitti Connect.

“Pitti Immagine takes on a blue mantle for an extraordinary edition; completely digital, exploring and expanding upon the potential opportunities made possible by a completely innovative tool like Pitti Connect,” continues Poletto.

“We need a new beginning and a new point of view. Blue is the perfect colour for opening up the eyes to a different perspective, which was unthinkable up until a few months ago, but extremely striking thanks to the creative resources that have come into play.”

The launch of the Out of the Blue campaign kicks off the Pitti Blue Challenge: a hashtag, but also a challenge for the wider Pitti community.

The invitation, open to all, is to contribute and recount all shades of blue by posting photos, ideas and inspirations on Instagram connected to the colour using the hashtag #Pittibluechallenge.

Projects

Amongst Pitti Bimbo’s projects this season include style itineraries, trends, and scouting through the exhibitors’ collections. This is alongside the best shoes for kids; unmissable s/s 21 pieces; what’s new for babies; eco-friendly highlights; sustainable kids’ fashion; and also a focus on micro brands.

Amplifying the connections between exhibitors, buyers and specialist press.

Over the three months, innovative networking and marketplace functions will be activated. You can visit virtual showrooms and exchange information via chats. Also, plan meetings, formulate orders, and consult updated reports with data and trends.

Furthermore, it is possible to carry out smart scouting to easily identify brands and cross-reference characteristics of the collection with the buyer’s specific requirements using the matching function.

The option for companies to register with Pitti Connect has no fixed term.
