Pitti Immagine postpones June childrenswear show until September

Due to the evolving health emergency in Italy and around the world, Pitti Immagine has confirmed new dates for its summer fairs.

Childrenswear show Pitti Immagine Bimbo no. 91 will now run as a two day event on 9-10 September 2020 at the Fortezza da Basso, Florence. The show was previously due to take place in June across three days.

Commenting is Claudio Marenzi, president of Pitti Immagine “Over the last few weeks we have been in constant and close contact with manufacturing companies in Italy and abroad.

“The strong request that emerged was to maintain at all costs the leading rendezvous like the Pitti fairs, which will be the first fundamental instruments to be activated to gradually get the entire commercial fashion industry machine going again. That is what we will be working on non-stop over the next few months.”

Pitti Immagine’s board of directors is currently investigating all potential collaborations with the government and local authorities. This is to ensure the events are properly accessible and safe for both exhibitors and buyers to attend.

Also commenting is Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine. “With regard to our three fashion fairs, it is clear that they will be exceptional editions. Our primary duties will be to guarantee the complete maintenance of hygiene of the exhibition space. And, to prepare an organization of the spaces and layouts that takes into account people’s safety.”

Another fundamental adaptation will be a new and advanced version of Pitti Immagine’s digital platform, Pitti Connect. The company will be announcing more detail on this over the coming weeks.
