Opened in June, Inti Baby is a new baby boutique founded by husband-and-wife team Emily Morgan Carrion Bazan and Jose Luis Carrion Bazan. Set in the heart of Bristol’s independent harbourside quarter at Wapping Wharf, the store brings together the couple’s British and Peruvian roots through a carefully curated offer for newborns through to age two.
The story behind the business began in 2022, when Emily moved to Peru for work and met Jose Luis. Inspired by the country’s rich textile heritage, the pair first launched an alpaca wool blanket company, shipping woven pieces worldwide. After relocating to the UK and welcoming their daughter Nora, they identified a clear gap in Bristol for an independent baby retailer combining quality, design and conscious sourcing.

Inti Baby takes its name from the Quechua word for “sun,” reflecting the warmth and Peruvian connection at the heart of the concept.
Key to the offer is Peruvian Pima cotton, selected for its softness and longevity, alongside organic cotton clothing, toys and gifting. The product mix spans exclusive Peruvian partners, Scandinavian labels and independent British makers, including local craftspeople from Bristol and Bath.
Housed inside a converted shipping container, the store balances its industrial framework with natural textures, warm tones and bespoke wooden cabinetry handmade by Jose Luis and Emily’s father. Curtains made by Emily’s mother add to the sense of softness, while two traditional Toritos de Pucará, gifted to the couple, sit above the till point as a Peruvian symbol of luck and prosperity.

Practicality also remains central, with the store’s play nook providing a cosy spot for children and a calm space where mothers can feed in comfort.
Brands stocked across clothing and accessories include Konges Sløjd, Wheat, Pima Lima, Little Green Radicals, Inch Blue, Sleepy Doe, MioCotton, Ecobebe, Uma Baby and Huaral Cooperative, a women’s co-operative in northern Peru. A curated edit of high-end pre-loved pieces further supports the store’s conscious approach.
Toys, lifestyle and gifting lines include Etta Loves, Gommu, Le Toy Van, Oli & Carol, Jumini Toys, Book of Deer, Smoosh, Avery Row, Banks Lyon Botanicals, Saastie, Austin Austin, Hottea Mama, Pairs and Toverlux. Every product must pass the couple’s “Nora Test,” named after their daughter. In practice, this means each item must be genuinely useful, non-toxic and beautifully made. Plastics are actively eliminated wherever possible, while technical materials, such as waterproof outerwear, must come from certified recycled sources.

Community will play a key role in Inti Baby’s next chapter.
The store plans to host guest spots for emerging brands to trial products, alongside workshops and meet-ups for new parents. It also intends to continue supporting neighbouring independents and local initiatives, having recently backed Windmill Hill City Farm’s fundraising efforts following a robbery. Although its ecommerce platform is still in development, Inti Baby currently offers a personal shopping service via Instagram direct messages.
Looking ahead, Emily and Jose Luis plan to expand the business in response to customer feedback, grow their mother-focused self-care and luxury gifting offer, and bring their Peruvian Pima cotton edit to families nationwide. As the duo sums it up, Inti Baby is about delivering “softness and sun for your little one.”
