Interior of Polly and Tots children's boutique displaying children's clothes and accessories

Husband and wife team, Joe and Hannah Craven, opened the first Polly and Tots store at Blakemere Village near Northwich in Cheshire in February 2020. Within a matter of weeks, however, the doors were closed due to the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns.

The couple had to think fast and quickly set up a website, which was supported by customers both near and far. Since then the business has grown from strength to strength, so when an opportunity arose to open a second shop, this time on Tarporley High Street, the couple couldn’t resist.

Launched in November, the new Polly and Tots shop greets customers with a colourful array of clothing, toys, books and accessories. Focusing primarily on sustainable, ethical and fair trade brands, clothing is available from newborn up to 7-8 years alongside baby essentials and accessories.

Complementing this is a range of wooden toys, play sets, jigsaws and books, plus toys and games for older children. The shop in Tarporley also features JJ’s Tuck Shop, which is full of treats for little and big kids alike. Brands stocked include Blade & Rose, Cheeky Chompers, Frugi, Janod, Kaloo, Kite Clothing, Lanka Kade, Little Green Radicals, Pigeon Organics and Ziggle.

Joe and Hannah are keen to work with the local community and hope to soon host in-store events with local authors and other small businesses. The long-term plan is to keep building Polly and Tots, and to ensure it continues to bring customers the best quality, child-friendly products.
